The workshop, "The Story Our Bodies Tell: Exploring Dance-Theatre," will focus on developing different techniques and ways the bodies of the performers can move and create valuable material that can be montaged into performance.

Taking inspiration from the idea that everyone can be a dancer and the words of Alvin Ailey, "Dance is for everybody. I believe dance comes from the people and should be returned to the people," the workshop will develop the individual "voices" of each participant's movement. These movements will be developed into a mutual polyphonic song, creating group and ensemble work and choreographies.

We will be creating the dramaturgy of dance and movement, aiming towards the creation of a meaningful performance of Tanztheater. Participants will also learn to transform actions into dance and dance into scenes that can be used and adapted for theatre performances.

This technique can be used in the classroom or when working with children, youth, seniors, and people of all ages, as well as in professional work in theatre and choreography.

The warm-up exercises, based on decades of physical work in theatre and dance by the workshop leader, will be beneficial for all, leading to routines that enhance the well-being and physical and mental health of the participants. The workshop is based on movement and physicality but respects the abilities of each individual participant.

Comfortable clothes that allow movement should be worn, with soft shoes or the option to work in socks.

The workshop leader is currently one of the dancers in the European Creative Europe “Dance on Pass On Dream On” project for professional senior dancers and choreographers.
