(The elephant, the squirrel and the ant) - Student workshop

A drama workshop suitable for kindergarten and the first grades of Primary Education

Free of charge for a limited number of schools


Priority to teacher members of the Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network (TENet-Gr)


The “O elefantas, i skiourina kai to mirmigki”  workshop primarily targets kindergarten students and the first grades of Primary Education and is presented in schools in the context of the “it could be me – it could be you” project, implemented by the Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network (TENet-Gr) in collaboration with UNHCR Greece


The “it could be me – it could be you” project and the workshops for students are approved by the Greek Ministry of Education, accredited by IDEA (International Drama/Theatre and Education Association) and are offered free of charge.


Short Description: The workshop sets off from a fairy tale, "The elephant, the squirrel and the ant", which offers opportunities for creative interaction with the children around issues such as tolerance, mutual understanding and respect for the other. The texts allows for work in a safe and imaginary environment, albeit with characters that are closely related to the reality of the children.


Duration of the Workshop: 2 hours for a class or group of up to 25 students

 

Facilitators: The workshop is implemented by the project’s certified facilitators.


The workshop is based on the techniques of Educational Drama and was designed by actor and theatre paedagogue Rita Poutahidou, director and theatre paedagogue Giannis Poutahidis and actor and theatre paedagogue Hristina Zouridou.
