Workshop synopsis

The purpose of the workshop is to provide the participants with drama tools, which will enable them to enhance the mental resilience of adolescents from different backgrounds (refugees, immigrants, locals) and to foster connections among them. Specifically, the workshop aims at helping adolescents to:

  • recognise the strengths of their personality as well as those of others,

  • express their hopes and dreams for the future,

  • reflect and act according to the values they believe are essential for peaceful coexistence.

The workshop is based on the principles of Positive Psychology, Drama in Education and Personal Narrative. In particular, it focuses on the core principles of Positive Psychology according to which, recognising and enhancing the positive emotions and qualities of individuals improves their emotional well-being. It applies the experiential and exploratory features of Drama in Education, in order to enable participants to better understand themselves and the world they live in. In addition, the workshop uses Personal Narrative, the role of which is important in shaping identity, giving meaning to experiences, connecting with others and fostering hope for the future.
