A group of friends are born and spend their childhood together. They devise games, come of age and suddenly have to join the army and head for the battlefield. In the whirlwind of the battle they sing, dance, fight with one another and reconcile. Lying in the trenches they feel homesick, share their personal stories, are afraid to die and that is why they start playing games with death.
