Circles close, circles open, we take a road and leave it behind every summer. We meet, we walk together, we learn and cherish. This year on August, our boat will moor at another island; one in the Ionian Sea. The 11th Theatre Summer Camp/Seminar will take place in Zakynthos, in the quiet scenery of the olivar around the cultural village "Skalia" and Avouri Theatre, which is located in Arkadia Municipality of Zakynthos, 2 klm from the touristic area of Tsilivi and 6 km from the town of Zakynthos (http://www.zakynthos-net.gr/skalia/).
We will be hosted in the stone guesthouses and the outdoor theaters built by our host, our partner and storyteller Dimitris Avouris. We will tour the olive grove's paths, we will eat bread baked in the traditional oven and lunch cooked with pure ingredients. We will live in nature, go swimming, have fun together in the evenings. We will find our old friends and make new ones. In the space of the Cultural village "Stairs", teachers, actors, directors, theatre studies experts, students, youth group facilitators and youths will be introduced to and familiarized with the combination of "live art" with theatre and artistic creation that is inspired by a specific space and/or is created and presented in it (site specific work). They will investigate the relation of theatre and literature and in general play with the theatrical narration techniques, will make instructions to change the world, through dream and utopia. The Theatre Summer Camp/Seminar includes 3 experiential workshops, one of which is directer exclusively to youths aged 16-23. Each participant may participate in only one workshop during the summer camp. It also includes tale narrations, projections and discussions under the estate's olive trees, swimming, rest and - naturally - entertainment. In the last evening the workshops' outcomes will be presented.

SCHEDULE: Arrival-registration-settling on: Wednesday 22/8/2011, 11.00-15.00. Departure: Monday 27/8/2011, before noon
Seminar hours: 35 academic hours
LOCATION: Cultural village "Stairs", Arkadia municipality, Zakynthos island, 2klm from Tsilivi tourist area and 6klm from Zakynthos town.
ACCOMMODATION: 5 nights a) in the Cultural village's dormitories (for the youths), b) in a guesthous 50 meters from "Stairs", c) in hotels in Tsilivi area. Lunch, dinner, with bread baked in the traditional oven and food cooked with pure ingredients in the cultural village's space.
WHAT TO BRING: Comfortable clothes and shoes for work outdoors, towels, musical instruments or music CDs... good mood! Additionally, printed, photographic or other kinds of material from artistic activities within or outside school which will be exhibited in a specially designed space around the front desk.
