VENUE – HEALTH – ACCOMMODATION – MEALS – WHAT TO BRING The Camp Venue The camp will be hosted at the facilities of Freeland Camp in Chiliomodi, Corinthia, Greece. The venue is a well-organized camp facility, set among the trees, which hosts children throughout the summer. Camp staff—including cooks, cleaners, and a caretaker/security guard—will be on site. However, all participants will be asked to help care for the facilities and assist with certain shared responsibilities during the camp (more information will be provided upon arrival). Accommodation Participants will stay in camp cabins—large cabins equipped with bunk beds (upper and lower beds) with mattresses. Participants should bring: Two bed sheets A good sleeping bag and/or a light blanket A pillow Each cabin is equipped with electric lighting and one power outlet. The camp’s bathrooms and toilet facilities are shared. Meals Meals (breakfast, lunch, afternoon refreshments, and dinner) will be served in the camp’s semi-outdoor dining area, with the assistance of volunteers. Vegetarian and vegan options will also be available. What to Bring Essential Items Bed sheets (for your mattress) A good sleeping bag and/or a light blanket Pillow Towels Personal toiletries Insect repellent Any medications you may need Flashlight/torch Reusable water bottle Hat Waterproof jacket/raincoat Comfortable walking shoes For Outdoor Activities and Workshops Comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for outdoor workshops A lightweight exercise mat for ground-based activities Optional: a lightweight, portable folding chair A small backpack for a possible hike/walk For the Pool Swimwear and other swimming/pool essentials (a swimming pool is available) For Cool Evenings A warm jacket A warm sweater, cardigan, or fleece jacket (Evenings can be cool under the trees!) Optional Items Equipment for an outdoor overnight stay (optional activity) A small extension cord/power strip for charging devices Music (on a USB drive or external hard drive) Musical instruments, if you have them For the Workshops Workshops will take place outdoors in shaded areas. The following are considered essential: An exercise mat for activities on the ground Comfortable clothing and footwear that allow you to sit and move comfortably on the ground Optional: A lightweight, portable chair Please read the description of your Main Workshop for any additional materials or items you may be asked to bring.
