"Me and the Other…"
Giorgos Bekiaris, teacher, Drama Pedagogue, Greece
WORKSHOP
Athens International Conference "Theatre/Drama & Inclusive Education"
23 March 2025
Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network (TENet-Gr)
Language: Greek
Limited number of participants
Short Description:
In this workshop, participants explore the concepts of personal and group identity, self-image, and "otherness" through experiential activities and theatrical techniques. The session addresses the theme of stereotypes, how they create conflicts and tensions in human relations, and how they can lead to discriminatory or even racist behavior.
Participants will understand how initial assumptions we make about others, often based on stereotypes and preconceptions, can hinder communication and lead to misunderstandings or conflict. They will learn to identify factors and skills that contribute to peaceful coexistence among groups with different cultural backgrounds.
