This workshop is dedicated to our and children’s favourite movies and super heroes. Every important aspect of everyday life, many existential and developmental issues, are being processed through animation movies: diversity, friendship, sense of belonging, loss, self esteem, the hero journey, the meaning of life, etc. In addition, super heroes seem to have every super power we have ever dreamed of! And that is so inspiring and motivating for children…
Both in playtherapy and children counselling, we use metaphors and symbols as bridges of communication and change. In this workshop, we will dive in the powerful world of metaphors and symbols and we will exchange and explore ideas and activities that we shall implement with children. The workshop will be developed in both theoretical and mainly practical way!
Vicky Vavva is a mental health nurse, drama therapist, play therapist, parent counselor and drama teacher in children and adult groups. She has worked for several years in mental health units and substance abuse rehabilitation centers in Athens. Since 2013 she lives and works privately in Ioannina, as a therapist and counselor and as a group facilitator through drama and arts in her Institute “Anoixto Parathiro” (www.anoixtoparathiro.gr) and in collaboration with other organizations.
