Workshop description
Psychodrama is a method of group and dialogical exploration of the questions that emerge in our individual and collective lives.
Developed by J. L. Moreno in the early twentieth century, it introduced the concepts of spontaneity and creativity into the psychodramatic stage.
Its roots can be traced to Ritual and Ancient Drama, while it also shares elective affinities with other forms of Applied Theatre, such as Theatre of the Oppressed, Anthropological Theatre, and Poor Theatre.
The enactment of the questions and experiences of our lives within a safe framework can illuminate new ways of individual and collective action.
Dimitris Karagiorgas is a Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist. He lives and works in Corinth, Greece, and collaborates with the Hellenic Psychodrama and Sociodrama Centre.
