Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network (TENet-Gr) in the 20th anniversary of its foundation (1998-2018), in partnership with the International Drama/Theatre & Education Association (IDEA) and in collaboration with a number of academic, professional and artistic institutions in Greece and abroad, is organizing the 8th Athens International Conference on Theatre and Performing Arts in Education.

Mantaka Chryssa

Assistant professor Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, set and costume designer, Greece

Chryssa Mantaka is a graduate of German Language and Literature Department, of School of Drama  and Doctor of Theatre Studies (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).   She studied also   Shoe-Design at the Ars-Sutoria School of Milan, Italy.  She worked as a Shoe Designer and collaborated as Stage- and Costume Designer with the National Theatre of Northern Greece, the Chamber Opera, the Music Foundation of Thessaloniki, the New Theatre and many private theatre groups. She worked as a   teacher of Costume Design in many Professional Drama Institutes and Laboratories and she was employed in the Musical School of Thessaloniki in the courses of Theatre Education. She is Assistant Professor in Costume Design at the Drama Department and Film Department at Aristotle University and she has participated as an instructor in many seminars addressed to teachers. She exhibited her work in many set and costume exhibitions in Greece and abroad and she curated costume exhibitions of students. Her scientific research work focuses on: semiotics of costume in the theatre, art and fashion, folklore studies and theatre in education.
