Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network (TENet-Gr) in the 20th anniversary of its foundation (1998-2018), in partnership with the International Drama/Theatre & Education Association (IDEA) and in collaboration with a number of academic, professional and artistic institutions in Greece and abroad, is organizing the 8th Athens International Conference on Theatre and Performing Arts in Education.

Simou Polyxeni

Simou Polyxeni

Highschool teacher, MSc Drama in Education, Greece

Polyxeni Simou was born in Patras, Greece. She holds a degree in Greek literature and ancient theatre and a MSc in Drama in Education (Trinity College, Dublin). She has been working in secondary education since 1992 and organises and works with school theatre groups since then. She has directed many productions. She has studied drama and theatre at several workshops and seminars with distinguished teachers such as D. Heathcote, Cecily O’ Neil, C. O’Sullivan, J. Neelands, A. Kempe,  D.Davis, C.Cooper, J.O’Toole etc. and has attended many conferences on Arts, Literature, Drama in Education, Education and Psychology. She is also a facilitator in workshops on Drama in Education and has delivered papers at a variety of conferences. She has also worked as cultural programs coordinator for Secondary Education of the 4th Region of Athens. She is a member of the Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network (TENet-Gr).
