Workshop Description
This is an experiential applied theatre workshop in which teenage participants will creatively and collaboratively explore questions related either to this year’s Theatre Camp theme, “Impacts: Bodies and Voices in Action”, or to other topics of interest.
The term Social Theatre primarily emphasizes our conscious intention to engage with contemporary social factors that shape and influence our lives. Both Theatre and Art continuously reflect upon and interact with social reality, contributing to the exploration and transformation of our individual and collective ways of perceiving and acting in the world.
Sociodrama, this experiential group action method, was developed by J. L. Moreno in the early twentieth century. It focuses on collective experience, using theatre and techniques of spontaneous dramatic play as a therapeutic and experiential tool.
