The seminar is based on the connections between body, sound, imagination, psychosynthesis and environment. How can we isolate them, explore them and then reconnect them? How can a compassionate connection with the public be established?
Participants will be admitted:
- In a ritual way of working both on a personal and a team level.
- In building an unreal physical behavior.
- In the awakening of the intuitive body
- In the sharpening of the senses and specifically of sight and hearing
- In broadening the horizon imagination
- In redefining the function within the whole and in the power of the collective energy
- And in detecting my real sound and the power of silence.
Together we will try to discover our limits, break them and create new ones. We will play with balance and imbalance, we will get out of the safety belts, so that we discover something that already exists, but is forgotten.
The seminar will use theatrical methods and techniques (such as those of Jerzy Grotowski, Odin Teatret, Tadashi Suzuki, Susan Batson, mime, theatrical clown and Noh theater techniques), but also techniques of the Theater of Research introduced by Fanis Katechos. Participants need to know a text of up to ten lines (poem, play, short story, etc.), a song and have chosen a painting that inspires them. Also they have to wear neutral comfortable clothes and if they have knee pads have them with them
Fanis Katechos is a director, theater teacher and actor. He graduated from the School of Dramatic Art of the Municipality of Ag. Barbara "Iakovos Kampanellis", while he continued his education abroad (Italy, Japan, Russia, Poland, England, Denmark). He has studied with Gilles Forman (Center for Acting), Eugenio Barba / Roberta Carreri / Else Marie Lawkvik / Tage Larsen / Donald Kitt (Odin Teatret), Raul Laiza / Mario Barzaghi / Matej Matejka (Grotowski Institute) and Kitt Johnson (X- act). In addition, he has attended various seminars, such as the "Territory Festival - School", the "International Noh Institute Summer Intensive Program" and workshops of the Astragali Teatro. As a theater instructor he collaborates with Stathis Grapsas in the Personal Development Program based on the Theater that takes place in penitentiaries in Greece (DKK, KATKETH, Avlona Prison), Nazim Hitmek Akademi Korosu (Istanbul), the Department of Architecture of the University of Architecture ( ), the organization Mostar Friedensprojekt (Germany - Bosnia), the organization Asociacion Juvenil Inter-AJ Inter (Spain) and the Higher School of Dramatic Art of the Municipality of Ag. Barbara "Iakovos Kampanellis". He directs seminars and teaches in European Educational Programs, Youth Exchange Programs and Erasmus + Programs in Greece and abroad. He has participated in a large number of performances and films. His most recent participations are the Theatrical Youth Exchange "Memories" with the production of four short films and a street performance as a director and trainer, while as an actor he participated in the play "Agapis Agonas Agonos" produced by Fabrica Athens. In the art of circus, he was the first to present the art of Bubble Performing in Greece, creating the show "Mr and Mrs Bubble - The Show". He is a founding member of the Multi-Active Art Group "Fabrica Athens" specializing in Applied Theater and Community Theater and the "Fabrica Artspace" and the inspirer and organizer of the "Handmade and Recycled Theater Festival".
