Ecotuning Workshop: Connecting with Our Natural Frequency
Facilitator: Eliza Zikou

LANGUAGE: GREEK

Workshop description
The natural elements of the environment invite us on a journey of exploration. Sounds, colours, scents, the visible and the invisible. Through experiential activities that encourage contact with the natural environment, our senses are awakened, creating space for mindful presence and observation, and for the development of a dialogue with the natural world that takes creative form.

Ecotuning is a process of reconnecting with nature — both nature around us and our own inner nature, which is often forgotten within the fast pace of everyday life. Based on the principles of Ecopsychology, it includes experiential activities and nature-based practices that cultivate mindfulness, sensory awareness, and a deeper connection with oneself and the natural environment.

As we come closer to the beauty of nature within the biosphere, our ability to listen to the most authentic aspects of ourselves is simultaneously strengthened. In this way, connection with the natural world becomes a bridge toward greater awareness, balance, and care — for ourselves, for others, and for the planet itself.

Eliza Zikou is a Biology educator specializing in Biology Education, a drama pedagogue and Theatre Play facilitator, and an Ecotuner (IES Training in Applied Ecopsychology). Since 2015, she has been active in the field of Environmental Education, collaborating with organizations such as the Hellenic Ornithological Society and Parea tou Dasous. In recent years, she has focused on teaching Biology and implementing experiential educational programmes that foster connection with nature in schools.
