THEATRE SUMMER CAMP 'PILIO 2025'
Creative movement & dance workshop: From Me to We
Facilitator: Polina Kefala
Agios Ioannis Pilio Greece, 26-31 August 2025
Main Workshop
Language Greek & English
Through individual and collective improvisations we will attempt to create situations of dance and coexistence.
In the workshop we will use tools from contemporary dance and Apogeos* practice in order to expand our proprioceptive and kinesthetic capacity and to meet that feeling of communion that a dance act creates.
We will explore the musicality of the body through actions of active listening and initiative and we will listen to the movement and sounds of our surroundings.
At the same time we will experiment with the liberating power of play and the corporeality of objects.
Special emphasis will be placed on unit and group observation and the creation of collective compositions.

* Apogeos is a research on movement, dance and composition, which began in 2014, and led to the creation of a new practice open to professionals and amateurs. It has been supported by the Ministry of Culture and by International Choreographic Centres, Festivals and Foundations (Kalamata International Dance Festival, S.E.F.A.A., Hellenic Open University, Tipperary Dance Platform, DeVIR/CAPa - Centro de Artes Performativas do Algarve, Choreomundus, Erasmus+ project “Faire-Corps”, etc.), while the official presentation of the research took place in September 2019 at the National Theatre. Part of the research has been published in the journal of Discourse and Criticism “the Erma” (issue 3). More than a thousand people have participated in Apogeos' workshops, from Greece, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Ecuador, etc.
