SHORT DESCRIPTION
«imagining things being otherwise maybe a first step toward acting on the belief that they can be changed» , Maxine Greene
Devised Theatre is a method of creating performances that uses the insurmountable power of imagination and ingenuity that each of us hides within ourselves. It can thus help us imagine new perspectives on our lives and our place in the world, and build the social and emotional skills needed to pursue them.
This workshop aims to highlight
-how to collaboratively approach themes and ideas within a theatrical convention (team building, giving meaning to play and action, revealing new meanings and building new narratives)
-the political and social dimension of these methodologies
-the group as a dynamic group of individuals, that relies on availability and interdependence rather than uniformity
-the role of the leader-director in regards to self-regulation and functioning of the group
-the relationship of all the above with the dynamics of adolescent groups, especially in the face of the new challenges of our times
Conditions of participation : Comfortable clothes.
The workshop includes exercises with possible physical contact.
