R-Lab – Art & inclusion
R-Lab is an artistic laboratory with a European dimension that explores the role of art in inclusion and offers a framework for questioning, experimenting and evolving our professional practices together.
Can art truly transcend language barriers? How can we adequately protect participants? What should we do when an activity evokes profound suffering? Do we value participants' cultures or do we reduce them to folklore? Who decides on the content, format, and final outcome?
These are the questions that will guide this second edition of R-Lab, conceived as a process of collective research and practical application.
The R-Lab is expanding into two-stroke :
3 professional days for artists, educators, social workers, cultural actors, volunteers and partners of the Refugee Center, these workshops are dedicated to
experimenting with artistic methodologies and sharing practices. Each day is self-contained and focused on a specific theme:
● Wednesday, February 11: the movement
● Thursday, February 12: Photo and video vectors
● Friday, February 13: Expression – Self-narrative
These days combine experiential formats, masterclasses and discussion sessions, in order to develop common methodologies.
Saturday, February 14th: a day open to the general public, conceived as a time for artistic restoration, sharing and celebration.
The objectives of the R-Lab
● Facilitating access to non-formal education for newly arrived people through artistic practices, in connection with local communities.
● To encourage dialogue between art, social work and education, and to promote the skills development of artistic and social workers.
● Creating a space for exchange between European actors around the artistic methods in an intercultural context.
The R-Lab is an invitation to think, experiment and create together, by placing art at the heart of inclusion and intercultural exchange.

Workshop by Pierre Jérôme Adjedj & Amandine Thiriet: ID photos
To enable, through the means of theatre and photography, refugees to reclaim their image as subjects. By using the body with theatrical techniques, we seek to work on the expression of
four archetypal emotions: joy, sadness, anger, fear, ... The objective is to open the door for each person to a new narrative and to a reflection on identity.
Made to Measure, Berlin
Friday, February 13: Focus on Expression - Self-narrative
Masterclass Souad Naana & Kmar Naouar: From emotion to speech: mediation through the senses
This masterclass offers a sensitive and experiential approach, where the artwork becomes a medium for inner projection. The goal is not to understand the artwork, but to observe what it evokes: emotions, resonances, mental images, and promptings. The device is presented as a tool for social intervention, allowing participants to experience art as a vehicle for feeling, to analyze its effects without a hierarchy of knowledge, and to identify principles transferable to their professional practices.
Same For All
Workshop Eirini Marna & Antigoni Tsarbopoulou: Identity through poetry
This participatory workshop invites us to explore the question of identity, personal narratives, and cultural references, Inspired by a poem by the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish, it combines creative writing and theatre-in-education techniques to allow participants to create their own poetic texts. The approach fosters an open and supportive space for artistic expression, where participants share their stories, develop mutual understanding, and experiment with performative and playful forms around the theme of the name.
