WORKSHOP

Athens Conference “Theatre/Drama & Inclusive Education”
21 March 2025

Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network (TENet-Gr)

Language: Greek

Limited number of participants

The workshop is addressed to teachers of all levels and specialties as well as to animators of youth groups with little or no experience in theatre pedagogical techniques.

Short description of the seminar: The aim of the workshop is to strengthen identity through inclusive education and the development of authentic and solidarity mindfulness.

The workshop draws inspiration from the works of Edouard Louis, which address issues such as inequality, stereotypes, oppression and social injustice. Through experiential and creative processes, participants will have the opportunity to recognize the impact of these concepts on their lives, to understand how social stereotypes affect the formation of their identity, to explore how society's imposed expectations and the need for acceptance – often expressed through overeffort and sacrifice of personal desires – lead to the constant search for the "thumbs up" of others and consequently to Exclusion. At the same time, we will examine how this cycle of exclusion and affirmation can give way to an authentic life path that responds to the real needs and personal meaning of life of the individual. In addition, the value of social cohesion and the development of relationships based on mutual respect and cooperation, away from stereotypical and restrictive perceptions, will be stressed. The workshop combines self-awareness with creative expression, offering tools for a more authentic, solidarity and conscious life.

Note: The workshop is experiential, participatory, includes exercises, games, improvisations, role plays and creative writing with physical contact and movement in space and on the ground. For this reason, it is necessary for participants to:

  1. wear comfortable clothes and shoes for movement exercises in the space

  2. attend the seminar in its entirety

  3. to bring with them... fun and appetite for experimentation!
