Complementary Workshop

Together we block racism in school!

George Moschos, jurist, Olga Orfanidou, teacher

Language Greek

The workshop is addressed to adolescents and aims at assisting them in learning how to recognise and cope with phenomena of discrimination and racism in school. Through experiential activities, the participants will be exercised in observing -in themselves as well as in others- such phenomena, in thinking, discussing about them and using institutional tools, like the students’ class assembly and the school regulation, in order to develop attitudes of responsible active democratic citizens.

The workshop has two parts: In the theoretical part, reference will be made to theory and legislation on discrimination and racism. In the practical part, theater techniques will be utilized and simulation exercises will be conducted to approach and elaborate students’ experiences, demands and proposals regarding the handling as well as the prevention of racist attitudes in the school environment.

This workshop is part of the "It could be me - It could be you" project organised by TENet-Gr in collaboration with UNHCR Greece
