A three-hour reflective workshop dedicated to the concept of persistence and our creative acts of resistance in times of crisis.
The aim is to open up a dialogue around the ethical, aesthetic, and political significance of persistence—how we define it, and what meaning it holds for us today.
We will explore both the personal and collective dimensions and perspectives of persistence, as well as the potential and impact that acts of persistence can have in the public sphere—through each of us, for everyone, with everyone.
Together with the participants, and if they wish to engage, we will focus on and process real-life experiences of “wonderful persistence” in a collaborative, group-based setting.
Using a dialogical and participatory approach, we will create our own archive—oral, intangible, and material—drawing on integrative tools and narrative practices.
My name is Anna Stavromitrou and I am a psychologist and systemic therapist. I am a licensed professional psychologist (Registry No. 2977). I completed my undergraduate studies in Psychology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and have since pursued lifelong learning in areas that deeply interest me. I have specialized in the field of addictions, gender studies, palliative care for patients with chronic and life-threatening illnesses, intercultural school psychology, EMDR trauma therapy, and systemic family therapy and counseling. For the past 10 years, I have worked as a psychologist and psychotherapist, providing individual and group counseling in collaboration with family support centers and consulting companies, as well as in child protection and refugee-migration contexts through NGOs. I have actively participated—and continue to participate—in community clinics, citizen initiatives, and collectives. My personal and research interests focus on collaborative and dialogical approaches to mental health, and the use of reflective and narrative tools and practices. I love nature trips, hugs, open windows, and I keep alive the deep need to continue co-existing and engaging in dialogue with groups and people who inspire and move me.
