Sofia Stenou has been working as a Greek Language and Literature teacher in secondary education since 2004. In 2016 she completed her master’s degree in Drama and Performing Arts in Education and Lifelong Learning" (School of Fine Arts, Department of Theater Studies, University Of Peloponnese, Nafplion, Greece). The title of her postgraduate thesis was "The contribution of the application of museum education programmes to the cultivation of the Historical Empathy of the students, in the context of teaching Ancient History, through Dramatic Art in Education: An Action Research with Students of the 1st Lyceum of Nafplion". She has been involved in amateur theatre and through her specialisation in Drama in Education she applies theatre/drama techniques in the teaching of many cognitive subjects. In particular, she believes that the way in which History is taught needs to be reformed, aiming for the students to build on their ability to understand the world, to acquire historical thought and consciousness, and to cultivate their historical awareness.
