Panagiota-Betty Giannouli works as a Specialized Courses Staff at the National and Kapodistrean University of Athens, School of Education, Department of Early Childhood Education. She holds a ΒΑ in Sociology and a PhD in Theatre/Drama Pedagogy. Her work includes planning and delivering teacher training seminars, theatre workshops and projects for teachers, theatre educators, children and young people.
Since 1998 her research interests and her practice have included theoretical and practical uses of drama/theatre as an educational medium, as cultural action and social intervention. Since 2010 she has been working in programmes focusing on reconciliation through the Arts, peer-mediation and conflict resolution and has participated in such festivals as a leader of young people's theatre groups. She is a founding and active member of the Hellenic Theatre/Drama and Education Network (TENet-Gr) and held the position of the President of the Association (2008-2011) and of the Vice President (2017-2020). From 1989 until 2017 she taught in Upper Secondary Education state schools in Greece and undertook the position of Head Teacher in the General Lyceum of Vari in Attica.
