This working group will explore how gender stereotypes and gender biases reproduce attitudes that lead to overt and latent forms of exclusion.

  • Can schools and educational environments create safe spaces for all children, regardless of their sexual orientation, identity, or gender expression?
  • How can people who have an educational/pedagogical role cultivate inclusive attitudes and values? In this direction, how important is the use of inclusive language for the empowerment of all children?
  • How can theatre techniques and experiential methods inspired by various arts contribute to cultivating a safe and equitable environment for all members of the educational community?
  • What is the role of feminist theory in deconstructing gender stereotypes and understanding the subconscious biases that affect gender expectations of both teachers and students?
  • How can the curriculum raise awareness around issues of gender identities and LGBTQI+ inclusion?
  • What is the value of engaging families and the broader school community in promoting gender equality and LGBTQI+ inclusion? What are the most effective ways to foster understanding and respect?
