IDEA Europe Annual Meeting in Athens, October 20th-21st, 2024

IDEA Europe will hold its annual meeting for members from across Europe (IEM) in Athens on October 20th and 21st, immediately following the WAAE Conference (October 17th-19th). The Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network (TENet-Gr) will organize this meeting alongside the elected committee of IDEA Europe.
As every year, the meeting will focus on collaboration, the initiation of joint actions, and advocacy for the role of Theatre/Drama in Education among associations worldwide. This year's meeting will also consider and build upon the work presented at the WAAE Conference, including consultations, research findings, advocacy papers, and discussions held during the WAAE event.
As discussions around advocacy through international agendas concerning the role of the arts, intensify, we invite all IDEA member associations in Europe to engage in this dialogue. Our goal is to continue and strengthen advocacy and support for the implementation of the Seoul Agenda, Frankfurt declaration, the UNESCO Framework for Culture and Arts Education, and other documents at local, national, and international forums.
At the same time, we will share new ideas and create alliances with common goals and proposals for collaboration at both the European and global levels. We invite you to join our meeting in Athens, with the hope that the city, where the concept of theatre as education for citizens was born and later spread throughout the world, will inspire us to take action and achieve our goals for Theatre in Education.
